Okademy proudly partnered with Jenga Congo to host an inspiring hackathon in Goma. The three-day event brought together some of the brightest young minds in the Democratic Republic of Congo, fostering creativity, collaboration and innovation in technology.
As a partner, Okademy contributed resources, mentorship and expertise to guide participants through the intensive development process. At the award ceremony, the Secretary of State personally presented prizes to the top teams — underscoring the government's recognition of technology in shaping the nation's future.
One standout project was a mobile app connecting rural farmers with urban markets to address food insecurity. Another team built a platform streamlining access to educational materials for underserved communities.
By investing in events like these, we're not just teaching tech skills — we're empowering a generation of leaders to shape a brighter future for their communities.

A Christian refugee resettlement agency that has welcomed more than 12,000 refugees to Minnesota since 1988. We support their technology empowerment, education and employment services with training for new arrivals.
